This double-duality leads to lots of incidents, arguments, and hilarity as the princesses navigate charming princes and strange dwarves. How will the fairytale end? This script follows the true story of Harriet Jacobs, known as Linda Brent in her writings, after she escaped slavery in 1835. She spent the next seven years hiding in plain sight, in the attic space of a shed on her grandmother’s property. Her children having been purchased by their free, white father and given to the care of her grandmother only days after her escape – she alternately joyed and agonized as she listened to them grow up, unaware of her presence. In this play, we hear from “Linda” as she does what she needs to do to survive and persevere so she and her children can be free. The work makes for an outstanding duo, with one performer as Linda and the other performer playing multiple characters.
The Big Decision by Mike Noland

Alex and Taylor, two friends, struggle with a creative assignment to describe an apple in an unconventional way. While Alex is stressed by the lack of clear guidelines, Taylor encourages a free-spirited, out-of-the-box approach. After getting through some distractions, Taylor suggests they make a short film, contrasting their work with the rest of the class's poems and drawings. The pair decides to create a comedic screenplay featuring anthropomorphized fruit, complete with a party scene where apples take center stage. However, their brainstorming hits many snags, not the least of which is they do not have any actual fruit. This chummy and cheeky script highlights the two friends’ contrasting personalities—Alex's need for structure versus Taylor's spontaneous creativity—as they work together to tackle the assignment.
